Going to Orlando on Saturday for a few days of fun in the sun with Mickey and Mike Eisner. Actually, Mike isn't there anymore so I will settle for Minnie. Back to NY on Thursday, and to Minneapolis again on Monday. Turns out, I will be at this project longer than I thought.

Whose bright idea is it to go to one of the southern most tips of America during the sweltering humid days of July, during the nation's holiday? Not mine. I would have opted to go to Alaska, though I recently found out that every state has experienced temperatures below 32° and above 100°. There is no respite anywhere.

Wow, you guys are still reading this?

Last night, went to a pub, salsa dancing then hip-hop, with all the coworkers - it's a great group of people I am going to miss. Very down to earth, talk-to-me-about-your-problems-and-I-will-help, group. The analysts can mingle with managers can mingle with the partner. Why am I going to miss them, you ask? No more project. It was pulled out from under our feet; thus, I will be working on something else after 2 weeks. I guess I'm ready, although only now am I really starting to get to know some of the people here... (Shanty & Anjum, that was for you)

Really hoping to see my girls sometime this weekend, but it's probably not going to happen. FYI, it's the Victoria Secret's Semi-Annual Sale.

Thank you, Gracias, Merci for reading and responding. I know how evil blogging is, so thanks for taking time to read and write back. It makes me feel spethial. Heck, it's just a forum for us to chat and have it documented for the entire world to see. All 5 people in the population.

I got my keyboard swapped for a working one today - check it:
ppppppppppppppppppp ??????????????????????????????
Isn't it fabulous? Now I know it is true what they say: You don't know what you have until you lose it. Oh, letter p, it is so good to have you back: Welcome Home.

Last night, I watched Batman Begins. It is the best of the Batman movies so far - a great mix of story, action (although I question the camera work - is there really a need to follow every movement in the action sequences?), and of course, gadgets. It makes me want my own Kevlar suit and all-terrain Batmobile. The danger? Driving back to my hotel at 85mph after a rush of adrenanline. Don't worry, I actually drove at 65mph because I saw a car with flashing lights its roof.

I finally watched a movie that has been on my movies-to-see list for a while, this Saturday afternoon: The Motorcycle Diaries. It was fantastic. Few movies are able to balance the key elements of a truly good film as this one did. In my opinion, most movies lack at least one of the four following elements, and this isn't even an exhaustive list of key elements:
1. A good storyline (An actual story, not just the ingredients for a Hollywood blockbuster)
2. Revealing & interesting cinematography (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon not Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
3. Convincing and real actors (Paul Giamatti not Hayden Christiansen)
4. Interesting and relevant musical scoring (In the Mood for Love not Minority Report)

The Motorcycle Diaries is about the journey of two young men (Understatement of the Year- one of the young men is Cuban revolutionary, Ernesto Che Guevara) through Latin America with little money and their dying motorcycle. I felt like I traveled with them, feeling what they felt, from exhilaration to desperation to inspiration. There were only a few moments that I felt otherwise, and even still, I loved every moment of the journey... movie. When the film ended, I wish it didn't, I wished there were more to watch - I even watched all of the 'extras'. It is going down on My Favorite Movies list.

Saturday night, I met up with two high school friends, and had Boeuf Bourgignon at a hole-in-the-wall French restaurant, Chez Brigitte. I felt like I was eating in someone's home - c'etait delicieux. Following dinner was dessert; not good enough to be mentioned in any more detail. The night continued with my walking from W4 to Union Square, meeting up with college friends at Republic. Even met some new folks, chatting about movies and books, now added to that list was mentioned in my first sentence. We headed over to N.A. for some drinks and dancing. And that is what we did all night long, ending at 3 a.m., with a $35 cab-ride back home. I will post a photo soon. It was great seeing these fine gentlemen, and I am sure I'll see them many times again soon.

For the three people who read my blog, HELLO!!! How are you today (insert question mark here) I have much to share, but I am aching to create my first rant:

I called my company's Technology Help Desk yesterday to make sure someone is available to fix my keyboard in the NY office - they reassured me with a 6-digit Case No. If you haven't noticed, one of the broken buttons is the much-needed Question Mark. I came into the office today, eager to have certain letters and buttons back in my life, only to find myself face-to-face with a closed door and a note that read: "HAHA! WE ARE NOT HERE & WON'T BE ALL DAY. Fix your own computer, you know-nothing consultant." An image of Nick Burns, Your Company Computer Guy, flashed through my head. The note did not read quite like that, but you understand the message. In essence, they are closed due to a "Special Project." What could be more special than fixing my Dell Latitude D600 so I can use all my keys when creating documents for my client (insert question mark here) It must be something having to do with:

1. Michael Jackson's Trial Verdict
2. The Missing Girl in Aruba
3. Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes

On another note, I had a very stimulating conversation with someone (Hello Praveen) on the plane-ride home last night. My friends, you would like to talk to this gentleman, who I am trying to convince to start blogging, as I think he has some great thoughts to share and conversations to generate. Additionally, he very regularly sees, touches, extracts, but does not smell, the human brain - and that in and of itself, is a topic worth writing about. Praveen is a state-of-the-art, one-of-a-kind, available-for-a-limited-time-only, neurosurgeon.

Finally, I have decided the best way to eliminate blog-pressure, "blessure," is to be fine with putting up one-sentence blogs at a time. Expect that in the near future, when I have less to say, and I have run out of steam and the pretense of having opinions and ideas.

I meant to sub-blog under Anjum (http://barsaat.blogspot.com/) but somehow ended up creating my very own blogspot. I don't know how it happened; it all happened so quickly.
